Two new scholarships and a bursary have recently become available for 2019 entry. These scholarships are only possible through the generous philanthropic support from members of the Saints community and the full details are available on the website. Applications close on Friday 27 April 2018.
Evans Family Bursary
The new bursary will provide up to $5,000 remission of tuition fees and will be awarded for up to three years (but can be extended by application). The Evans Family Bursary is available to new and current students in Years 7 to 12.
The Evans Family Bursary has been generously funded by Michael Evans (FLL ‘59), a long-standing, dedicated and respected member of the Saints community. At the age of six, Michael contracted polio and being unable to participate in sport, he made his contribution by time keeping for the First XVIII football. Michael became a long-standing, dedicated and respected member of Saints staff, retiring in 1999 after 37 years of service, the last 23 years of which were as School Secretary and Bursar. His retirement marked the end of 100 years of continuous service by the Evans family as School Secretary and Bursar with both Michael’s father LAR Evans, serving in that capacity (1946–1977) and grandfather, AEH Evans (1899–1946).
Applicants should possess sound all-round qualities including academic, demonstrated service and citizenship, involvement in co-curricular activities (music, drama, sport etc) and be diligent and positive contributors to their current school community. In light of Mr Evans’ formative experiences, priority will be given to applicants who have shown strong determination, resilience and/or a positive attitude in overcoming, or in continuing to address, a significant personal challenge. The bursary will be means-tested.
General Excellence Scholarship
Two General Excellence Scholarships are available to boys wishing to enter Year 10 or 11 as a day or boarding student, and will cover up to 100% tuition fees. The scholarship is available to new students only.
Through the efforts of Board members serving on the St Peter’s College Foundation, these new scholarships have been made possible by a group of committed, enlightened individuals including old scholars, current and past parents. Having experienced the value of a Saints education first hand, they have come together to provide the necessary philanthropic support that will enable someone else to benefit from a Saints education.
Applicants should possess sound all-round qualities including academic, demonstrated service and citizenship, involvement in co-curricular activities (music, drama, sport, etc) and be diligent and positive contributors to their current school community.
The General Excellence Scholarships will be awarded to students who would be unable to attend St Peter’s College without significant financial support. As such, applicants will be required to sit an ACER exam and provide evidence of their achievements in sport, music/the arts, co-curricular activities and community service. These scholarships will also be means-tested.
