For some, the end of year can be a stressful time, but in the Junior School, the last fortnight’s events have been a tremendous culmination of what has been an extremely successful year. We are blessed to be ending the year with family and friends in attendance at celebrations and performances.
On Monday we honoured an educational milestone at our Year 6 Graduation Ceremony held in Memorial Hall. It was a privilege to present the boys with their graduation certificates and see Headmaster, Mr Tim Browning, present Senior School House caps as a symbol of welcome. Congratulations to the students as they transition to their next phase of schooling!
Wednesday afternoon saw us celebrate effort, academic achievement, good citizenship, House Cups, sporting, public speaking and prowess in the arts at the Years 3 – 6 Speech Day.
Yesterday, year levels celebrated the culmination of the school year with festive crafts, activities, arcade games, sharing of food, swimming, dancing, Shakin’ the Shinkfield rock band festival before finishing off with a colour run.
Author Simon Sinek, known for his Ted Talk Start With Why, says ‘when we work hard for something we don’t believe in, it’s called stress. When we work hard for something we love, it’s called passion.’ So, the end of the year hasn’t been stressful, its been filled with passion; for the love of an exceptional community of learning.
I am grateful for the staff who have given the students such wonderful learning and life experiences this year.
