Senior School
Students across the Senior School have again participated in the AnglicareSA annual Christmas Hamper donation drive. This donation drive sees individuals and organisations across the state source and donate items for those in need at this time of year. As the housing and cost of living crisis continues in SA and is something that many are aware of, the full extent of these challenging times may never be fully known.
St Peter’s College is proud to partner with AnglicareSA to run this program and with news that the School was able to provide 10% of the donations to Anglicare in 2022, the weight of our impact was made known to our students.
Over the last six weeks, Senior Students have been sourcing and sorting donations within their House and Mentor Groups, with some engaging in internal house competition, a healthy motivator. During Week 8, the students in Year 7 and 8 were also tasked with a challenge in which saw one hamper between every two students across the Middle Years donated.
The continual awareness and critical thinking from students in our community has allowed for a total of 230 hampers to be donated as of Thursday 7 December. These hampers will be distributed through Anglicare’s emergency assistance hub in the CBD.
We encourage all members of our community to be aware of organisations and support systems of similar nature throughout the year, and especially during the Christmas season.
