Wellbeing Education
St Peter’s College provides a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment and we are a world leader in wellbeing and positive education.
Our wellbeing framework is based on the work of internationally renowned psychologist Professor Martin Seligman and consists of positive emotion, engagement, relationships, meaning and accomplishment.
We teach scientifically-informed positive education programs from Australia, England, and the US that have demonstrated impacts on student wellbeing. We also teach lifelong personal competencies to develop resilience as well as an understanding of individual character strengths.
Our Wellbeing Program is supported by registered psychologists and chaplains who work across all year levels to help boys and their families.
Pastoral Care and Houses
Our Houses are fundamental to the pastoral care system at St Peter’s College and promote social, academic, spiritual and emotional wellbeing. They provide many opportunities to participate in annual traditions and community activities, enhancing a sense of belonging and camaraderie. Friendships formed by boys during House activities often last a lifetime.
Heads of Houses and House Mentors are the daily custodians of student wellbeing via regular one-to-one conversations and the ongoing application of proven wellbeing practices.
