The Boarding House
The Boarding House provides excellent small dormitory accommodation and private rooms, together with study and leisure areas, for 100 boys from Year 7 to Year 12.
Meals are enjoyed in the historic Da Costa Dining Hall in the heart of the Senior School campus. Our boarders create lifelong memories through camaraderie and friendships, academic support and extracurricular activities. After school and on weekends, boarders can choose to use the extensive sporting and recreational facilities on campus, and participate in a service of worship in the Chapel on Sundays. Leave is welcomed but carefully managed to ensure boys balance their commitment to School, home, family and friends.
The Wellbeing of Boarders
In the Boarding House we are considerate of how a student’s cultural, family, social and emotional wellbeing may impact on their ability to grow and learn. We aim to give boys a variety of opportunities to maximise their experiences, and to foster lifelong learning and friendships.
Every boarder has a mentor teacher who meets with him regularly and liaises with academic and support staff when required. Boarding students also receive extra academic and pastoral support from dedicated residential supervisors and academic tutors.
There are two experienced residential Heads of House responsible for boarders and they are the first point of call for parents with boarding questions. Our tight-knit and structured residential team, led by the Head of Boarding, ensures we provide the best care and guidance to support our boarders.
Our boarders come from diverse backgrounds. Many are from regional and remote Australia while our international students come from a wide range of countries, most notably in the Asia-Pacific region. St Peter’s College is a proud member of the Australian Boarding Schools Association.
